The burly striker was heavily criticised for his underwhelming performances prior to last weekend's Cup match against the students
KCB FC head coach Robert Matano has, once again, jumped to the defence of Djibouti striker Samuel Feargod after the former El Merriekh Bentiu forward scored his first goal for the club.
Before opening his goal account, Feargod had faced sharp criticism from fans over his uninspiring performances, with questions being raised over his fitness and movements on the pitch.

Barely a week ago, Matano admitted that the forward joined the team while unfit, given that he arrived in the closing hours of the window.
However, it was a reprieve for Feagod and Matano, as the 26-year-old came off the bench to net the last of KCB's goals in their 4-0 win over Zetech Titans in a Mozzart Bet Cup Round 32 match played on Saturday, 7 March at Embu Stadium.
“He is a scorer. We have seen him in training, and we are just giving him time. He is a better finisher than all our strikers,” said Matano.
With the win, KCB qualified for the Round of 16, with the former Tusker FC coach appreciative of his charges for the effort.
“We played well but were wasteful in front of goal. We lacked calmness and awareness that almost cost us, but we made amends and got two goals at the end of the first half that put us through to a victory.
Mieno is helping us in the middle of the pack with his experience. I am also happy with Fortune (Omoto), who is finding his rhythm after spending a long time on the sidelines,” he stated.
For Zetech tactician Bernard Kitolo, he opines that they were punished for their own misgivings against a strong KCB side.
“The game was okay. We tried to possess the ball, especially in the first half, and so it was painful to concede two goals in the last three minutes.
It was due to individual errors from inexperienced players, and with the quality that KCB has, they will always punish you for that,” said Kitolo.
