After enjoying a giant-slaying run that has so far claimed Kenyan giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, BB Bread FC have now set their eyes on lifting the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup, at least according to Denis Muthini.

Muthini was the difference, scoring the sole goal in the 83rd minute to knock out Gor Mahia when the two sides met in a Round 32 tie on Sunday, 8 March at the Nyayo National Stadium.
With the result, the Nairobi Regional League side has now booked a place in the Round of 16, slowly inching closer to the title, with the speedy winger confident of playing in the final.
“Having come so far, let us meet in the final,” Muthini told Mozzart Sport after the match.
The versatile player who can also operate from the middle of the park credited their impressive run in the cup to the technical bench led by coach Ajastine Okoba.
“From the start of the tournament, we knew we would be up against big teams, and so we psyched each other and the technical bench did a brilliant job of preparing us for this tournament.
Their tactics and instructions once again made it possible for us to grab a win against Gor Mahia,” he stated.
On a personal note, Muthini was over the moon after his goal proved the difference, repaying the faith his coach had in him when he was introduced in the second half.
“Coming on, I knew that I had to make a difference, and there can be no better difference than to score the winning goal,” he added.
Following elimination from the Mozzart Bet Cup, Gor Mahia’s sole hope for a title and continental football rests on the FKF Premier League, where they are currently at the summit with 50 points, seven more than second-placed AFC Leopards, who have one game in hand.
