The 26-year-old is said to have already exited the club setup, with his next destination yet to be decided as he takes time to assess potential opportunities in the region and beyond.
During his time there, he earned a reputation as a hardworking and disciplined presence in midfield, often tasked with breaking up opposition play and providing defensive stability.
Having previously played for Zanaco in the same division, Ochieng says he has had a fairly good run with Eagles.
“My stay at Green Eagles has been a pleasure. It has been a good experience for me both on and off the pitch. I want to thank the club, my teammates, and the fans for the support,” he says.
Ochieng, who has also been involved in the Kenyan national team setup at various levels, is regarded as part of a growing group of midfielders pushing for consistent international recognition.
His performances at the club level have reportedly kept him on the radar of national team selectors, particularly due to his energy, tactical awareness, and ability to shield the defense in high-pressure matches.
At different stages of his career, he has been seen as a player with potential to contribute to the national team setup beyond training camps and preliminary selections.
Capped several times with the national team, Harambee Stars, the imposing midfielder will no doubt be the target of top clubs within the region as the transfer window swings open.
He added that he is currently focused on what comes next in his career:
“Right now I am focused on the next step in my career. I’m open and still deciding on my next destination, but I’m grateful for everything so far.”
Ochieng, known for his aggressive ball-winning style and high work rate in midfield, is expected to attract interest from several clubs as he weighs his next move.
