Omija, 23, sealed a high-profile move to the 11-time Tunisian league champions last week, bringing an end to his second stint with K’Ogalo.

His switch came on the back of an impressive outing at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in August, where he was a standout performer for Kenya.

Speculation had swirled around Bolo’s alleged involvement in orchestrating the transfer, with critics accusing her of engineering a deal that weakened the record league champions.

However, in a strongly worded statement on her official Facebook page, the administrator sought to set the record straight.

“I have been following, with amazement, the debate over Omija’s transfer. I am wrongfully getting plenty of flak for weakening a club I profess to love,” Bolo stated.

She clarified that Etoile approached Gor Mahia directly with an official offer for the player, after which the club’s Executive Council (EC) convened and unanimously sanctioned the transfer.

According to her, the process was conducted transparently and within FIFA regulations.

“The player has, for the last four years, been managed by Salient Sports Management. Through their FIFA-licensed agents, they negotiated the best package for both the player and the club after both parties agreed to do business,” she explained, adding that her personal ties to the agency had fueled unfounded claims of conflict of interest.

Bolo emphasised that she neither initiated nor personally sold the player, insisting the deal was above board and officially signed off by the EC.

Since joining Etoile, Omija has already featured in two matches, playing full minutes in a 1-1 draw against Monastir before lining up in a narrow 3-2 defeat to JS Kairouan in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 as he begins to settle into life in North Africa.
