The 26-year-old is currently without a club after his contract with Polokwane City expired on 30 June, allowing him to negotiate freely with interested teams ahead of the 2026/27 season.
According to Soccer Laduma, Bwire has not yet agreed to join any club, despite speculation suggesting he had already signed for Chippa United.
The publication reports that while there is strong interest in the Kenyan international, he is still evaluating his options before making a decision on his future.
The latest development means reports claiming the goalkeeper had already put pen to paper with the Chilli Boys are premature, with sources indicating no agreement has been finalized.
Bwire is understood to have attracted interest from several clubs following an impressive campaign with Polokwane City, and all indications point to him remaining in South Africa's Premiership next season.
The former Tusker goalkeeper featured 18 times for Polokwane City during the 2025/26 campaign, registering six clean sheets across all competitions for Rise and Shine.
Since joining the South African outfit from Tusker in 2024, the Bureti-born goalkeeper established himself as one of the club's dependable options between the posts.
His commanding presence, excellent shot-stopping ability, and confidence with the ball at his feet earned him praise throughout the season, while also helping him retain his place in the Harambee Stars setup.
With his contract now expired, Bwire finds himself among the most sought-after goalkeepers on the South African market.
His status as a free agent gives interested clubs an added advantage, as they would not be required to negotiate a transfer fee.
While Chippa United remain among the clubs strongly linked with the Kenyan international, the race for his signature is still open, with several suitors believed to be monitoring his situation closely.
Bwire is expected to make a decision on his next destination in the coming weeks, as he considers offers that will provide both regular playing time, and the opportunity to continue his development at the highest level.
