Bwire's departure from Polokwane City followed a challenging six-month spell that saw him frozen out of the squad amid a reported contract dispute.
The Harambee Stars goalkeeper is said to have rejected a contract extension offer in January, a decision that effectively ended his involvement with the first team.
According to reports from South Africa, Bwire was excluded from matchday squads and full training sessions for months despite continuing to report for duty.
His only competitive appearances during that period came for Kenya, featuring in the FIFA Series against Grenada in March and in the recent international friendly against Lesotho.
Following his exit from Polokwane City at the end of the season, the 26-year-old has wasted little time securing a fresh opportunity.
South African publication iDiski Times reports that Chippa United have moved to strengthen their goalkeeping department by bringing in the Kenyan international.
The move offers Bwire a chance to revive his club career and establish himself as a key figure at Chippa United, who narrowly avoided relegation after finishing 13th in the 16-team Premier Soccer League last season.
Chippa's defensive struggles were evident throughout the campaign, with the club conceding 44 goals, the second-highest tally in the league.
The departure of Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali in February left a significant void, and Bwire is viewed as a long-term replacement for the Super Eagles' first-choice shot-stopper.
Bwire arrives with valuable PSL experience after making 18 appearances for Polokwane City last season, conceding 17 goals.
Now settled at a new club in South Africa's Eastern Cape province, the former Tusker FC goalkeeper will be eager to put a frustrating chapter behind him and make an immediate impact as he seeks to re-establish himself both at club level and with Harambee Stars.
