Muguna, 30, was unveiled as a new player for the top division club on Wednesday, 7 January, for what they described as a one-year, six-month deal.
The transfer, which came a day after Muguna’s birthday, happens just months after the Kenyan international joined another Botswana club - Rollers - on a two-year deal on 22 August.
Reacting to Sua Flamingoes welcome post, Muguna said: "Next stop, the top. Happy to join Sua Flamingoes FC. Let’s go for the silverware now.”
The remarkable twist hints at a mutual parting of ways between Muguna and his former employers Rollers, who in September last year publicly announced that they were under severe financial challenges, which had adversely affected the well-being of the team.
Muguna, who after his signing with Rollers admitted to being a long-time admirer of the club, missed a huge chunk of his time there, last featuring for the ‘Blue Train’ as a substitute on 20 September against Extension Gunners.
Then, Muguna came on in the 32nd minute of what ultimately ended as a barren draw.
The last communication from the club pertaining to Muguna came over a month later - on 25 October - when Rollers noted that the former Kenya Police player would be missing the team’s clash against Mochudi Centre Chiefs, due to family commitments.
The latest announcement now sees Muguna return to familiar surroundings, but for a different club that will also be looking to wrestle the league crown from defending champions Gaborone United.
Sua Flamingoes, who are based in Sowa (central Botswana), were promoted to the top division of Botswana football for the first time in 2020, and are yet to win a top-tier title.
The side, which is coached by Leutwetse Tshireletso, is currently fourth in the Premier League with 26 points from 14 games.
Gaborone lead the way with 32 points, having played two lesser matches.
