According to CAF, the 35 participants comprise a diverse, high-caliber group of professionals from member associations across the continent. They represent a new generation of football administrators committed to driving progress and innovation in the game.

The five-month programme includes on-site training in Egypt, online courses, practical sessions at one of Africa’s leading football events in a major host city, and concludes with a graduation ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa.

CAF stated that the syllabus will focus on strategic leadership, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development. The programme reflects CAF’s investment in human capital and institutional capacity building, in line with President Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s vision of positioning African football as competitive and self-sustaining.

By the end of the programme, participants are expected to demonstrate competency in governance, administration, commercial strategy, and operational leadership.

The on-site module undertaken by Ndege and Oruo up to Wednesday, 17 September, focused on Introduction to African Football Governance and Strategic Planning in Football. This will be followed by an online course on Football Financial Management and Strategic Football Finance to close September’s activities.

In October, participants will undergo online training in three modules: Leadership and Organizational Culture, Communication and Media Relations, and Negotiation and Conflict Management in Football.

In November, the programme shifts back to on-site training with a module on CAF Competitions Uncovered: Event Management in Action.

December will feature online modules on Sports Law and Football Governance, with the final module of the year covering Football Ethics and Integrity.

January will be packed with seven modules, including Football Marketing and Sponsorship, Operations Management, Digital Transformation and Innovation in African Football, Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility in Football, Grassroots Football Development, Presentation Skills, and finally, Group Work and Presentations before the graduation ceremony in Cape Town.

Ndege and Oruo, who served as Gor Mahia CEO until last season, are the only Kenyans enrolled in the programme.
