New Wrexham signing Vyner was not fit in time for Saturday’s clash against Millwall due to a toe injury.
The 28-year-old sustained the problem while playing for his former club Bristol City against Ipswich Town on Tuesday, 20 January.
He subsequently missed matches against Sheffield Wednesday and Derby County before completing a move to Wrexham for an undisclosed fee.
“Zak’s got a slight problem with his toe, which we knew about. He was back on the grass today but won’t be available this weekend, and possibly next weekend against Ipswich in the FA Cup,” Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said on Thursday.
“He’s a good player and very experienced in this division. He gives us great versatility; he can play anywhere across a back three, he can play in a back four.
He’s played in midfield this season, and he’s played as a wing-back. He can play a lot of positions well.”
Vyner was one of three players Wrexham signed during the transfer window, alongside forwards Davis Keillor-Dunn and Bailey Cadamarteri.
Keillor-Dunn, 28, is expected to compete with the likes of Kieffer Moore, Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez for a place in the starting line-up, while Cadamarteri may have to bide his time.
The 20-year-old has scored twice in 30 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday this season.
“He’s played at this level this season, and he had some game-time on loan at Lincoln in League One last season,” Parkinson added.
“When you’re 20, there’s development, and he knows he’s come here to work on his game with some really good players around him. But he’s someone who’s ready when called upon.”
A product of the Bristol City academy, Vyner spent his entire professional career with the Robins after turning pro in 2015 and arrived at Wrexham having made more than 250 Championship appearances.
Born in England to Kenyan parents, Vyner remains eligible to play for Kenya’s Harambee Stars. Former national team coach Engin Firat handed him a call-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and the Ivory Coast.
However, he was unable to make his international debut after being forced to return to the United Kingdom due to delays in acquiring his Kenyan passport.
He had already been named in the travelling squad for the two matches, which saw Kenya draw 1-1 with Burundi before holding African champions Ivory Coast to a 0-0 draw.
