Whether it is Mukumu Boys High School Grounds, Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega High School Grounds, or Kakamega Rehabilitation Centre, hundreds of supporters continue to throng the venues, regardless of which team is on the pitch.
More interestingly, many have left behind their daily routines just to witness the action.
"I am supposed to be in the farm now planting, you see the rains, but I have decided to cheer first, farm later," said Stephen Mukabane, a local fan.
Another fan, Duncan Ochineg, explained his devotion: "When football is around, I just feel uncomfortable and unconscious sitting at home. I have to treat my Omusambwa."
Former Harambee Stars striker Benard Onyango Imboko, who also served as AFC Leopards Team Manager, believes the turnout reflects the deep cultural connection the region has with the game.

"Western and Nyanza are the bonafide homes of football. Football is in their blood and everything to them. The region loves the sport, and people are made to fall in love with football from a young age," Onyango told Mozzart Sport.
He added that the same passion can be traced beyond Western Kenya.
"It is not like other areas. Even in Nairobi during the CHAN games, those people fighting to access fields, I bet many of them are from this region. Football in the blood is different from football introduced at an older age."

Imboko called on authorities to take the passion seriously and invest more in the region if Kenya is to fully unlock its football potential.
"If people invest more in football and create more fields in this region, they will cultivate a lot of talents for the country," he said.
