Kawempe Muslim came from behind twice to beat Kenya’s Arch-Bishop Njenga Girls SS 4-2 in a thrilling semi-final at Kakamega High School’s outer field on Wednesday, 20 August.

Skipper Agnes Nabukenya was the star of the show, scoring all four goals for Kawempe Muslim.

Brenda Nekesa opened the scoring for Arch-Bishop Njenga in the 10th minute, but Nabukenya equalized 10 minutes later to see the first half end 1-1.

Hilder Natecho restored the Kenyan side’s lead nine minutes into the second half, only for Nabukenya to respond with a quick equalizer two minutes later.

She completed her hat-trick on the hour mark before sealing victory deep in added time.

"We worked together and believed in ourselves. Even after trailing twice, we stayed focused and kept pushing for the result. Now, our eyes are on the final,” said Nabukenya, Kawempe Muslim’s captain.

In the second semi-final, St Noa Girls edged Amus College School 1-0, thanks to a well-struck free-kick from Sumaya Nalumu.

The result sets up an all-Ugandan finale between Kawempe Muslim and St Noa Girls, while Amus College will face Arch-Bishop Njenga in the bronze medal playoff.
