One move by Ronaldo made a 431 billion Ksh loss to Coca-Cola

Time and time again, the same thing happens: Cristiano Ronaldo does something, and consequences are unbelievable. Whatever one of the world’s best footballers does reflects on somebody. And on Tuesday, the soft dring giants Coca Cola lost billions of Ksh just because of his act, and Heineken is soon to follow, since Paul Pogba did a similar thing.

After a comfortable 3-0 victory over Hungary, Ronaldo was accompanied by his coach to the press conference, where two bottles of Coca Cola were in front of him, near the microphone. The  Portoguese removed the carbonated drinks from the table and said, 'Drink water’. The consequence? Coca-Cola's shares, which had opened at about $56.17, had fallen by 1.6%, to $55.22, by the end of the press conference. Its market value dropped by $4 billion, to $238 billion from $242 billion. The soft-drink manufacturer's shares continued to slide on Tuesday, falling by 0.3%. That move by Ronaldo made a 431 billion Ksh loss to Coca-Cola!

And France midfielder made a similar move on the same day, after a 1-0 win over Germany. Paul Pogba was also at the press conference when he saw a bottle of Heineken beer in front of him. Pogba is a devoted Muslim, and fore them, alcohol is 'haram' or forbidden, so the Manchester United star's removal of the bottle is likely to be due to his unwillingness to endorse the competition's sponsor.

It remains to be seen whether Heineken will respond to Pogba's removal of their product. In response to Ronaldo's move, Coca-Cola said that 'everyone is entitled to their drink preferences'. But the fact remains that both players have known that these sponsors exits long before this press conference, and have done nothing until now. For example, Heineken is one of the UEFA sponsors for over 25 years, and all Pogba’s clubs were playing in the Champions League....
