In its ruling, the SDT quashed the decision made by FKF’s Leagues and Competitions Committee (LCC) and referred the matter back for a fresh hearing. The tribunal also clarified that the 2019 FKF Rule Book, not the 2025 version used in the initial decision, should guide any new determination.
Seasoned football administrator Lordvick Aduda has raised serious concerns over the integrity of the Kenyan league, saying recent rulings by the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) have exposed weaknesses within the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Aduda was reacting to the tribunal’s decision on Friday, 6 March, which overturned an earlier FKF ruling that had awarded Gor Mahia and Nairobi United one point each following their abandoned match on Sunday, 21 December, 2025.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the former Gor Mahia CEO said the episode underscores the federation’s ongoing governance challenges.
“That ruling on Friday has badly exposed the federation. How do you run a league without a fully functional appeals committee or disciplinary committee?” Aduda asked pointedly.
He emphasised that judicial bodies such as the Disciplinary, Appeals, and Ethics Committees can only operate under the mandate of the FKF General Assembly.
“That’s why the SDT ruled they were acting unconstitutionally. It effectively invalidates all the decisions previously made by the disciplinary committee,” he added.
Aduda expressed shock that the national federation continues to operate a top-flight league without fully functional governance structures, particularly as the season nears its conclusion.
“Where does this leave the league in the second leg? And the rules the LCC relied on were from 2025; you cannot introduce regulations after the league has begun, and especially without approval from the General Assembly. What kind of federation runs like this?” he questioned.
The former FKF presidential aspirant also criticised President Hussein Mohammed’s promised reforms, arguing that systemic weaknesses persist.
“People cheered for a fresh start, but what fresh start is this when the SDT ruling has compromised the integrity of the entire league?” Aduda said.
He further questioned the LCC’s authority to determine outcomes of unfinished matches as witnessed in the aforementioned case.
“The LCC declared the abandoned match ended 1-1 after it was stopped at the 59th minute. On what authority can they make such a decision? That ruling was clearly beyond their mandate,” he added.
Aduda noted that the case had two “losers”: FKF, whose credibility has been undermined, and Nairobi United, who lost their appeal for a full win.
He also highlighted a separate issue in the National Super League (NSL) involving Mully Children's Family (MCF), who withdrew from the league citing financial constraints but were reinstated three weeks later following a visit from the FKF president and his delegation.
The club lost 1-0 to Luanda Villa in their first match back at Mumboha Stadium.
“A team that voluntarily withdrew now returns, but who authorised this? The LCC, which is supposed to manage the league, wasn’t even aware. Who is actually controlling the Kenyan league?” Aduda asked.
Mozzart Sport reached out to LCC chairman Peter 'Kass Kass' Kamau, who confirmed that the committee had no information of MCF’s return, stating that only the FKF CEO’s office could provide answers regarding the reinstatement.
“If the committee responsible for running the league doesn’t even know, yet fixtures are being scheduled, it raises serious questions about who controls Kenyan football,” Aduda concluded.
