Tanzanian club admits plans are underway to table fresh bid
Former CECAFA Kagame Cup champions Azam FC are preparing to break the bank and sign Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna.
The Tanzanian club unsuccessfully tried to acquire the services of the creative midfielder last year who was linked with a move away from the club but eventually chose to stay put.

Azam Chief Executive Officer Abdulkarim Amin admitted that the club had not given up in chasing Muguna who is in his final six months of his contract at Gor.
“We do not have any transfer plan but we are interested in having Muguna in our team. We are yet to table a fresh bid or reach out to his agent but the plan is in the pipeline,” he said in a telephone interview.
Amin who cleared the air on why the club missed on Muguna’s services last year noted that luring the midfielder off the books of Gor was a difficult task but remained hopeful of landing him in Chamazi.

He said, Gor were reluctant to release the former Western Stima player last year arguing that he had a lengthy contract.
“It is difficult to sign a player from Gor Mahia and Kenyan clubs at large. I have also encountered a similar problem with Ugandan clubs too. We wanted to sign Muguna before the season began but Gor were not willing to release him,” he added.
Muguna has dominated the transfer news in the recent weeks after changing his agency. The former FK Tirana man is said to have a host of offers on his table but in an interview moment after taking his Covid-19 vaccine remained tight lipped on his next stop, maintaining that he is keen on serving Gor.
