In what was a battle between the police and the military, the Administration Police side grabbed a victory through Anthony Naibei’s goal in first half stoppage time.

Going into the match, Ulinzi had won two matches since parting ways with coach Stephen Ocholla, wins that detangled them from the relegation quagmire.

APS, on the other hand, were on a seven-match winless streak that sank them into the relegation zone in what has been a tough debut season for the Law Enforcers.

The Mozzart Bet-sponsored side were the better side from the opening exchanges and had a flurry of chances, most notably Hansel Ochieng missing a header from close range in the sixth minute.

Ochieng was back at it again in the 13th minute, this time around failing to connect to a well-laid cross in the area.

APS survived a scare in the 24th minute when Paul Okoth intercepted a build-up from the back to set up Staphord Odhiambo, but the latter shot wide.

The league newbies’ dominance continued in the 29th minute with Festus Kipkemoi unleashing a shot that went inches wide off the right post.

As the match progressed towards half-time, Anthony Naibei stepped forward to bring an end to his goal drought by scoring in the second minute of added time to give APS a lead that they took to the break.

In the second half, Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo's charges resorted to a low block defending to protect their lead and limited Ulinzi’s chances until the 65th minute when Boniface Muchiri delivered a sumptuous free kick to find Okoth, whose header was well saved by Maxwell Mulili in the APS post.

Mulili was once again called to action in the 93rd minute to deny Okoth an equaliser as APS Bomet went on to secure maximum points.

With the win, APS took their point tally to 25, the same as Ulinzi and might finish the day out of the relegation zone depending on the result between Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks.
