The last-16 clash, staged at the historic Arthur Davies Stadium, saw Dynamos take control early, with goals from Lions Makwaza Jr and Austin Muwowo proving decisive.
The victory not only ensured progression in the prestigious domestic cup, but also strengthened the Kitwe side’s pursuit of a potential cup double this season.
While Shumah, the league’s top scorer with 15 goals, started on the bench, Osoro earned a rare starting berth in the tournament, a reward for his persistent efforts in league matches this season.
The former FC Talanta forward, however, was substituted in the 31st minute, making way forcing Ronel Manyanga after just over half an hour of action.
Shumah, on the other hand, was introduced in the 71st minute, making a late cameo that injected fresh energy into the Dynamos frontline.
Despite limited minutes for both players, their impact was felt in the team’s fluid attacking play and clinical finishing.
The Kenyan duo’s maiden season in Zambia is rapidly gaining traction, as they continue to adapt seamlessly to the demands of one of Southern Africa’s most competitive leagues.
Dynamos’ win was mirrored by Mufulira Wanderers, who edged Forest Myooye 2-0, becoming the first two sides to confirm their quarterfinal berth this year.
