Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has pinpointed his side’s profligacy in front of goal as the main concern following their narrow 1-0 defeat to Tusker FC at the Kasarani Annex on Friday, 7 November.

The Oilers suffered their second loss of the season after Dennis Oalo struck the decisive goal just three minutes into the match, condemning Akhulia’s men to a frustrating evening despite a spirited display to salvage a point from the clash.
Akhulia admitted that his side’s failure to convert chances has become a worrying trend, especially after going two consecutive matches without finding the back of the net.
"We did not play well in the first half, but we improved and dictated the tempo after the break,” Akhulia told Azam Sports.
“However, we have to put more emphasis on finishing. We created many chances but failed to score, and this is now the second straight game without a goal. When you don’t score, you don’t win, and that’s why we’ve dropped points.”
The barren run in front of goal has exposed Bidco’s attacking fragility, with the Thika-based outfit managing just five goals in eight league matches, one of the fewest tallies in the FKF Premier League, tied alongside Bandari, Ulinzi Stars and Mathare United on five each, while Kenya Police have the lowest with two.
The defeat saw them slip to ninth place on the table with 11 points, five behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.
Akhulia, who also serves as the Kenya U20 assistant coach, further explained his tactical decisions during the match, including an early second-half substitution that saw Meshack Odhiambo replace Kassim Mwinyi.
"Tusker were winning most of the second balls because of their direct style, so we needed more solidity,” he revealed. “Odhiambo came in and did very well despite being inexperienced at this level.”
With a week to regroup, Bidco United will now turn their focus to their next fixture against KCB FC on Friday, 14 November, as they seek to rediscover their scoring touch and return to winning ways.
