The FKF Premier League 2025/26 season has seen a high turnover of head coaches, with the latest being the shock sacking of Shabana FC head coach Peter Okidi, who was sent packing after a 2-1 loss to Kariobangi Sharks.

Okidi’s departure was unexpected as he had led Shabana to the title matrix and in third position in the league, their best-ever standing at this stage of the season since their top-flight return.

The former Nakuru All Stars tactician had also guided Shabana to the best away record this season, having lost just one match on the road during his tenure, their 5-1 humiliation at the hands of AFC Leopards.

His departure from the Kisii-based club has led to mixed reactions from the club's faithful, even as a majority of the fans' social media reactions pointed to their disappointment with the decision.

In the end, Shabana became the 10th club to sack their head coach, with defending champions Kenya Police FC and Bandari FC making the change twice.

In this article, we take a look at the revolving coaching door of FKF Premier League clubs as of Monday, 23 March.

Shabana FC - Peter Okidi

Okidi joined Shabana in October 2024 as coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo’s assistant before taking over as head coach in November and led Shabana to fifth position with 53 points at the end of the 2024/25 season.

He was sacked on Tuesday, 17 March, following back-to-back losses to AFC Leopards and relegation-threatened Kariobangi Sharks.

Police FC - Etienne Ndayiragije & Dusan Stojanovic

Defending champions Police FC have been one of the most active teams in the league as far as changing coaches is concerned.

The Law Enforcers began the season under Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije, who had joined them in November 2024 and led them to their historic maiden league title.

However, the former Taifa Stars head coach would face the sack in October 2025 following a dismal performance in the CAF Champions League, where they failed to qualify for the group stages.

The 2024 Mozzart Bet Cup champions then turned to Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic, who was appointed on 3 November 2025 but was later shown the exit door two months later, following poor performances in the league and was replaced by Nicholas Muyoti, who crossed over from Mozzart Bet Cup defending champions Nairobi United.

Tusker FC - Charles Okere

Charles Okere was initially appointed as interim coach of Tusker FC in August 2024 following the departure of Robert Matano, after serving as his assistant as well as doubling up as the head coach of the youth team.

The former Harambee Starlets tactician was confirmed as head coach two months later, following an impressive start to the season.

Okere led Tusker to a fourth-place finish in the 2024/25 season, earning him more time at the brewery.

However, the 44-year-old found it challenging to either replicate last season's performance or better it and eventually faced the chop in February 2026 and was replaced by French tactician Julien Mette.

Nairobi United - Nicholas Muyoti

Muyoti shocked Kenyan football when he left former FKF Premier League side Nairobi City Stars for the then second-tier side Nairobi United in January 2025.

The former Kakamega Homeboyz coach would later be vindicated after leading Naibois to the 2025 Mozzart Bet Cup title as well as promotion to the FKF Premier League after winning the National Super League (NSL) title, while City Stars were relegated.

However, alleged administration wrangles and the threat of a sack led to Muyoti’s resignation in January 2026, after which he swiftly joined Police FC.

Bandari FC - Ken Odhiambo & Mohammed Borji

Bernard Mwalala is the third head coach of Coastal side Bandari FC this season, following the sackings of Ken Odhiambo and Mohammed Borji.

Odhiambo was sacked on 30 September 2025, just two matches into the season, with Moroccan tactician Mohammed Borji appointed as his successor.

However, the Moroccan failed to turn the tide and was eventually shown the exit door on 11 December, with the club turning to Mwalala, who had led the club to the Mozzart Bet Cup title in 2019.

Mara Sugar - Edward Manoah

Veteran coach Edward Manoah joined Mara Sugar FC in May 2025 to help the club retain its league status, a mission he successfully accomplished.

The former Vihiga United coach began the season with the Sugar Millers, but a fallout with the management led to his resignation in mid-February before he was announced as the Sofapaka head coach.

Posta Rangers - Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo

Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo successfully led Posta Rangers to preserve their league status via a promotion/relegation playoff win over Naivas FC.

He then led Posta to a decent start of the season before a rough patch of results, as well as interest from APS Bomet, saw him resign under heavy pressure from the management.

APS Bomet - Michael Nam

Mozzart Bet-sponsored APS Bomet began their debut season in the top flight under the tutelage of former Gor Mahia assistant coach Michael Nam.

However, a poor start to the season saw Nam exit in October 2025, two months after his appointment, with Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo tasked with the rescue mission.

Sofapaka - Ezekiel Akwana

The 2009 league champions, Sofapaka, have endured a torrid season that leaves them at the bottom of the league table.

Their troubles, which include salary delays, led to poor results that eventually cost coach Ezekiel Akwana his job in February, with Edward Manoah taking over.

Ulinzi Stars - Danstun Nyaudo & Stephen Ocholla

The topsy-turvy season that Ulinzi Stars are undergoing has already seen the club sack two tacticians: club legends Danstun Nyaudo and Stephen Ocholla.

Nyaudo was sent packing in October 2025 due to poor results, while Ocholla lost his job after their 3-1 defeat to Gor Mahia on Sunday, 15 March.

In the end, only eight clubs- Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Kakamega Homeboyz, KCB FC, Bidco United, Kariobangi Sharks, Murang'a Seal and Mathare United are the only clubs that have kept faith in their coaches so far.
