The rescheduled fixture, played on Friday, 20 March at Arthur Davies Stadium, had initially been postponed a day earlier due to heavy rains, but it was Shumah who wasted no time stamping his authority once play got underway.
The lanky forward, who was notably omitted from the latest Harambee Stars 23-man squad for the upcoming FIFA Series international matches, continued to make a strong statement on the pitch.
He broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, calmly finishing off a well-crafted move to hand the defending champions a deserved lead heading into the halftime break.
The eight-time league champions returned for the second half intent on securing maximum points and maintained control for large spells of the contest as they edged closer to another crucial victory in their title defence.
However, just as Dynamos looked destined to collect all three points, Prison Leopards produced a dramatic late twist.
Deep into stoppage time, Emmanuel Chabula struck in the 95th minute, capitalizing on a lapse at the back to snatch a point and deny the hosts a vital win.
Despite the late setback, Shumah’s goal further underlined his scintillating form.
The strike marked his 15th of the season, with an astonishing return of eight goals in just 15 days, a run that includes two braces and his maiden hat-trick.
His exploits have now opened up a five-goal cushion at the top of the scoring charts, as he edges ever closer to clinching his first Golden Boot in Zambia.
The result sees Aba Yellow move to 52 points, maintaining their position in the title race, although they missed a golden opportunity to widen the gap over second-placed Red Arrows.
Nevertheless, Dynamos still hold a significant advantage with two matches in hand, keeping their bid for back-to-back league titles firmly on course.
