The Thika-based club confirmed the capture of 2018 Copa Coca-Cola U16 top scorer Jacob Onyango, who becomes their third official signing of the current transfer window after roping in John Kelwish and Christopher Raila.
The former Sofapaka talisman joins on a season-long loan from Tusker FC, a move designed to reignite his once-promising career after struggling to make an impact under Charles Okere’s side.
"We would like to welcome Jacob Onyango to Bidco United. The striker joins us on a season-long loan from Tusker FC. The former brewer is now an Oiler. Karibu mafutani Jack,” the club posted.
Earlier on, Bidco also announced the return of John Kelwish, who rejoins the Oilers for a second stint. The lanky striker arrives from reigning Mozzart Bet Cup champions and FKFPL debutants Nairobi United, where he enjoyed a successful spell, helping the side clinch a double.
Kelwish had initially left Bidco in September 2024 for Tanzanian outfit Fountain Gate FC, but following delays in paperwork, he opted to switch to Nairobi United during the mid-season transfer window.
The former Sofapaka ace, who had carved his name in the record books as Naivas' all-time top scorer, now returns to familiar territory where Bidco will once again bank on his goal-scoring instincts, with the club welcoming him back enthusiastically.
"The King is back! We welcome back John Kelwish Walubuka, who had a short spell at Nairobi United last season. The forward is an Oiler again and ready to provide his services in the upcoming campaign. Karibu mafutani,” Bidco announced.
The double acquisition comes at a crucial time for Bidco, who endured a torrid 2024/25 season in front of goal.
The Oilers finished as the league’s lowest scorers with just 21 goals across the entire campaign, narrowly surviving relegation on the final day after a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against Sofapaka.
The new reinforcements by Bidco are signalling intent to correct last season’s shortcomings and mount a stronger challenge in the forthcoming campaign.
