The Harambee Stars defender was introduced in the 35th minute after Lloyd Jones was forced off with an injury, marking another important step in his integration into the Addicks’ squad.
Sichenje slotted into the backline as Charlton sought stability in a tightly contested English Championship clash.
Charlton fell behind in first-half stoppage time when George Campbell rose highest at the back post to head home from a corner, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead heading into the break.
After the restart, West Brom pushed for a second, with Josh Maja and Alex Mowatt both going close. However, Charlton gradually worked their way back into the contest, with a series of substitutions injecting fresh energy into Nathan Jones’ side as they searched for an equaliser.
Their breakthrough came in the 70th minute when Kayne Ramsay’s perfectly weighted through ball split the defence. Lyndon Dykes showed composure to control before calmly slotting the ball through the legs of Max O’Leary to draw Charlton level.
With parity restored, both sides created half-chances late on, but Charlton held firm to secure a valuable point on the road, their second consecutive 1-1 away draw and a result that extends their run to just one defeat in six matches.
Sichenje will now hope to build on his growing involvement as the Addicks return home to face Wrexham AFC at The Valley this weekend.
Zak Vyner
Elsewhere, Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner came off the bench two minutes from time as Wrexham edged Portsmouth 2-1 at the STōK Cae Ras to strengthen their grip on a Championship play-off spot.
Wrexham took control in the first half through two headers. Sam Smith opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, nodding home Callum Doyle’s cross, before Max Cleworth doubled the advantage from a George Dobson corner just before the break.
Portsmouth improved after the restart and pulled one back four minutes into the second half when Zak Swanson’s effort deflected in off Doyle.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser, but Wrexham held firm in the closing stages, with Vyner helping to see out the win. The victory keeps the Red Dragons sixth in the table, four points clear of seventh-placed Southampton.
