Ochieng’s latest goal came just days after he committed his future to the club

Harambee Stars forward Job Ochieng made it two goals in as many matches for Real Sociedad B on Monday night, scoring in their impressive 2-0 away victory over Cádiz CF in a La Liga 2 fixture.

Ochieng had on Saturday been named in the matchday squad for the senior side, Real Sociedad, during their thrilling 3-3 draw against Real Oviedo, but he remained an unused substitute. He returned to action with the B team on Monday and played a key role in securing a vital win.

The Kenyan forward had also found the net last week in Sociedad B’s 2-1 triumph over Málaga CF, and he was on target again against Cádiz. Ochieng broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute after being set up by Jon Balda. He was substituted seven minutes later, while Balda went on to provide another assist in stoppage time, setting up Lander Astiazaran to seal the victory.

The result lifted Sociedad B to 13th place on the table with 34 points after 27 matches. They will next host Deportivo La Coruña on Sunday.

Ochieng’s latest goal came just days after he committed his future to the club. In an official statement, Sociedad confirmed, "OFFICIAL STATEMENT | Job Ochieng renews until 2028,” underlining the club’s confidence in the Harambee Stars winger with an improved two-year contract extension.

Meanwhile in Sweden, Harambee Stars prospect Xavier Odhiambo started for Landskrona BoIS but was forced off after 35 minutes as they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to GAIS in a Svenska Cupen Round One match on Monday night.

Gustav Lundgren, Salter Samuel, and Ramus Niklasson all scored in the first half to hand GAIS a commanding win. Odhiambo and his teammates will look to bounce back when they face IFK Norrköping on Saturday.
