The six-track project, which officially dropped on Thursday, 11 September, is now available on Apple Music and Spotify.
The album features Amaitsa’s collective, TheGz KE, and includes tracks such as; Sindio, Hearttricks, Mazingich, Freestab, Na ma G, and Gangstar.
The album has a sound that echoes the hard-hitting beats popularized by rap group Wakadinali. It also reflects a raw, street-inspired vibe.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport during the Kabeberi 7s, the youngster revealed that music has always been a hidden passion alongside his rugby career.
“The talent has always been there since high school, but I never really wanted to show it because my focus was on chasing the national colors. I started singing back in 2017 during class prep, and now I’m working on an album,” Amaitsa said.
Sindio carries a strong message rooted in personal experiences and community values.
“The theme revolves around the culture of brotherhood, uplifting and enlightening each other about life and all its diversities. Since we began this journey a while ago, a few songs may not align perfectly with the theme, but the core message remains: rehabilitation through sports and music,” he explained.
Amaitsa had teased fans for months by keeping the album’s title and release date under wraps.
That heightened anticipation before he finally unveiled the project.
His venture into music follows a path trodden by other rugby personalities worldwide.
Former All Black Sonny Bill Williams once released a rap single, John Kirwan tried Italian pop, South African hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle produced gospel music, and Welsh referee Nigel Owens recorded a charity single in his native language.
For now, fans will be keen to see whether Amaitsa will take his music to the stage and perform live concerts, unlocking yet another side of the Shujaa sensation.
