The player tore his ACL back in October when Shujaa were preparing to take part in the Safari Sevens tournament

Shujaa ace and Menengai Oilers’ Harold Anduvate is set to face a length period of time on the sidelines after the player was ruled out of rugby action following an untimely tearing of his left knee anterior cruciate ligaments.

Back at the tail end of October when the national men’s sevens team was preparing to take part in the Safari Sevens tournament staged at the Nyayo National Stadium, Anduvate picked up the serious injury that has now curtailed his start to the new season while Shujaa were conducting their training sessions.

With the gravity of the injury, the Oilers’ player was forced to face the knife where he underwent successful surgery last Thursday for a corrective procedure.

With both the Kenya Cup and the 2021/2022 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Circuit kicking off this weekend, Anduvate will definitely be missing in both fields as he undergoes the process of rehabilitation.

While Menengai Oilers will be taking on Mwamba RFC in their Kenya Cup opening fixture on Saturday 28th November at the Nakuru Athletics Club, Shujaa will be dueling in the Dubai Sevens where the new sevens rugby season starts.

In Dubai, Kenya have been pooled in Group B, otherwise termed as the group of death, alongside Olympic bronze medalists Argentina, 2019 Series Runners up the USA who are under the tutelage of former Kenya head coach Mike Friday and series regulars Spain
