Pool A

Kenya Harlequin became the first team to confirm a quarterfinal berth after coming from behind to beat Kabete Stallions 26-7. Stallions had struck first through Lawrence Ndung’u, but Jan Remke’s response for Quins leveled the scores.

Dave Mwaura’s quick-tap try swung momentum in Quins' favor before second-half efforts from Ramadhan Masete and Patrick Wainaina, the latter finishing a fluid move sparked by Lucky Dewald, sealed the deal.

Nakuru RFC joined them in the last eight with a 19-0 shutout of Mombasa RFC. Javan Otieno produced a solo moment of brilliance just before halftime, while Joel Mboya and captain Chrissant Ojwang added second-half tries to cap a disciplined performance in front of a home crowd.

Pool B

Menengai Oilers turned on the style, racing to a 31-5 win over Daystar Falcons.

Captain Denis Abukuse starred with a clinical hat-trick, adding to first-half tries from Brian Mutugi and Daniel Kipchirchir. Arnold Ogonda grabbed a late consolation for Daystar, but the damage was long done.

Strathmore Leos sent a clear warning to their challengers with a 38-0 demolition of Zetech Oaks.

Gabriel Ayimba opened and closed the first-half scoring, while Brian Mwenda and Victor Mola also dotted down. The second half was more of the same, with Shem Okola and Nygel Amaitsa adding to the rout.

Pool C

KCB Rugby showed no mercy against Kisumu RFC, thumping them 48-0 to seal their spot in the quarters.

Floyd Wabwire’s brace, alongside tries from Bob Muhati, Vincent Onyala, Lionel Ajeliti, Tyson Maina, Elvis Olukusi, and Festus Shiasi, capped a commanding team display against Kisumu’s former player-turned-coach Fabian Olando.

Nondies were held 22-22 by a spirited Catholic Monks side in a thrilling draw. Both sides traded early tries through Charles Odhiambo and Felix Okumu, with Wambani Onsundwa and Daniel Okito also crossing the whitewash before halftime.

Monks edged ahead in the second half through Felix Omondi, but Nondies looked to have sealed the win with two quick tries. However, Monks struck late to earn a deserved share of the spoils and keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

Pool D

The day’s biggest twist came in Pool D, where Mwamba RFC edged Kabras Sugar 17-15 to keep their knockout dreams alive and throw the group wide open.

Kabras raced to a 10-0 lead courtesy of Patrick Kluivert and Victor Otieno, the latter finishing off a clever Eric Cantona cross-kick. Mwamba responded with tries from Eugene Odhiambo and a quick tap score before halftime to take a narrow 12-10 lead.

Kabras clawed back through Humphrey Asiligwa after a Jackson Siketi-inspired spell, but a yellow card to Jactone Osoo proved costly. Stephen Sakari capitalized with a decisive try, and Mwamba clung on as Kabras squandered a final opportunity with a knock-on at the death.

In the same group, MMUST and Impala RFC drew 15-15 in a closely contested tie.

Churchill Oyugi and Kevin Bukhala gave MMUST a 15-5 halftime advantage, but Impala clawed back through David Nyangige’s individual effort and a converted Derrick Kinyari try to share the spoils.
