The school games, which are at the regional stage, will see two learning institutions book a place in the Nationals set for Nakuru in September.
Lenana School suffered heart break at their own backyard after a nail-biting quarter final that saw them narrowly lose 12-14 to Dagoretti High School in the ongoing Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nairobi region school games.
The Main Cup served up nothing but fireworks as the top guns sailed to the semis unscathed which also means that the semi-finals will be utterly entertaining.
Ofafa Jericho High School who have lit up the tournament thus far by displaying a high level brand of rugby punched a ticket to the semis after a 20-10 win over Jamhuri High School who went down with a fight.
Reigning national school games 7s champions Upperhill joined the teams in the last four following a 20-0 win over Kibra High School who had outdone themselves by booking place in the Main Cup Quarters.
Lenana, who were charged by a boisterous home crowd that had gathered around the field in droves, put up a spirited performance but they just fell short of victory going down 12-14 to neighboring school Dagoretti.
The 9th Place Quarters were marred by walkovers with four teams failing to show up after their hopes were dashed of featuring in the Nationals.
