The Main Cup quarter finals are slated for Sunday 11 September.
Ofafa Jericho, Butula, Koyonzo and Nanyuki High School all sailed to the Main Cup quarter finals with a 100% record at the the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) national games staged at the Nakuru Boys High School on Saturday 10 September.
A number of schools impressed despite losses in Pool action including Upper Hill, All Saints Boys-Embu, and Nduru Boys High School who were representing Nyanza region.
Nairobi region champions Ofafa Jericho were head and shoulders above their opponents in Pool A as they again beat Upper Hill School 5-0 after the two institutions met in the Nairobi region final that ended in a narrow 7-5 victory.
Koyonzo who were representing Western region had burly players provided a physical mismatch against all their opponents as they bulldozed through defense lines with their sheer strength to record emphatic victories over Kangaru, Ngong and All Saints.
Traditional sevens giants Kangaru School and St Mary's Yala were the biggest surprise in this year's edition of the national school games with former being hammered in all their Pool games while Saints only managed a single win against punching bags Mazeras.
Alliance High School also registered mixed results in the games losing out to Kabianga and Nanyuki High School before picking up their only win of the day against Shimba Hills High School.
