The Match Day 10 clash at the KCB Sports Club, in Ruaraka, was called off at halftime after heavy rain left the pitch waterlogged and unsafe for play.

At the time of the stoppage, the two sides were tied at 10-10 after an entertaining first-half battle.

KCB started the match on the front foot, dominating territory and possession in the opening exchanges, while pinning Kabras deep in their half.

The Bankers forced several early penalties, but fly-half Brian Wahinya missed his first two attempts at goal.

Despite the missed opportunities, KCB maintained pressure and eventually broke the deadlock when Wahinya slotted a penalty to give the hosts a 3-0 lead.

KCB continued to attack and soon extended their advantage when they crossed the whitewash for the opening try. Wahinya converted to give the hosts a 10-0 cushion.

Kabras, however, showed resilience. After struggling to gain territory for much of the first half, the Sugarmen finally broke into the KCB 22 and immediately made their visit count with a try under the posts.

Fullback Eric Cantona added the conversion to reduce the deficit to 10-7.

As the rain intensified and the surface became increasingly muddy, the game turned into a tactical kicking contest.

Kabras continued to build momentum and were rewarded with a penalty just before halftime, which Cantona converted to level the scores at 10-10.

The heavy rain worsened during the break, leaving large sections of the pitch waterlogged and slippery.

After assessing the conditions, the centre referee ruled that the surface was unplayable and unsafe, leading to the match being abandoned before the second half could begin.

With the fixture halted after the first half had already been completed, the Kenya Rugby Union regulations allowed the score at the time of abandonment to stand.

The committee also made key decisions regarding other fixtures affected over the weekend.

In the KRU Championship, Mombasa RFC were awarded a 28-0 victory and full points after their opponents, Mean Machine RFC, were found to have contravened regulations relating to match abandonment and approved venues.

Mean Machine were further docked two points as part of the disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, in the Kenya Cup, the fixture between KU Blak Blad and Impala RFC has been rescheduled to a midweek slot before the final round of regular-season matches.

Blak Blad will retain hosting rights, with the match expected to be played by Wednesday, 11 March at noon to allow both teams adequate recovery time ahead of the next round of fixtures scheduled for Saturday, 14 March.
