It was the second straight statement victory from the Nakuru-based side, who had opened their campaign with a commanding 76-16 win over Daystar Falcons.

Against Impala, they were ruthless from kickoff to the final whistle.

The Oilers’ intent was clear from the onset. After camping in Impala’s 22 in the opening minutes of the game, Dennis Abukuse dotted down the opening try, setting the tone for a long afternoon for the hosts.

Timothy Omela missed the conversion, but the Oilers quickly regrouped.

A marauding run from John Okoth produced their second try, with Omela adding the extras for a 12-0 lead.

Moments later, a clever kick from Omela was chased down by Samuel Mwaura for Oilers’ third try. With Omela again converting, the score climbed to 19-0.

Impala briefly threatened from a lineout when Meshack Andale managed an intercept, but hesitation saw the ball knocked on.

Oilers responded immediately. Okoth covered huge ground before setting up Samuel Were for another five-pointer. Omela stayed flawless from the tee, stretching the lead to 26-0 inside 15 minutes.

A scrum penalty handed Impala their first points of the afternoon through a successful penalty kick from Andale.

But the Oilers were far from done.

Abukuse punched through midfield and fed Okoth for another try, with Omela converting from long range.

Okoth then turned provider, setting up Omela, who powered through two defenders to score, though he missed the conversion this time.

Impala’s brief second visit to the Oilers' red zone earned them another penalty, this time also slotted by their number 10.

From the resulting restart, Gibson Weru's charges turned on the screw again, and another scrum platform ended with the Oilers powering over. Omela added the extras before Abutwalib Wesonga sealed the half with a converted try.

Impala tried to show intent after the break, winning a scrum in Oilers territory. But under pressure from Amos Obae, their fly-half killed the ball, gifting possession back to the visitors.

Oilers capitalised immediately. Okoth picked up and sliced through for another try, Omela adding the extras.

A powerful maul moments later saw Philip Okeyo crash over for the Oilers’ next try.

Scrum dominance continued to define the match. Celestine Mboi scored another try from the base, converted by Wesonga, before a moment of flair lit up the field, Beldad Ogeta burst through before handing the ball to Okoth, who theatrically passed it back inside for Ogeta to finish the move.

Oilers added two more, another try off a scrum (with Wesonga missing the conversion) and a final touchdown from Ogeta to close out the 97-6 demolition.
