Nondies got out of the drop zone albeit temporarily after recording only their second win of the season
Relegation threatened Nondescript RFC managed to put a glimmer of light in their otherwise bleak season so far as they recorded a narrow victory over one time Kenya Cup champions Mwamba RFC to resuscitate some hope of the record Kenya Cup champions being able to cheat the drop in the 2021/2022 season.
In a closely fought contest played at the Jamhuri Park, Nondies managed to record a 0-12 win that ensured the team grabbed four precious points on the day, taking their point tally to eleven, out of the relegation zone and one above the drop places.

Prior to the clash, both sides knew very well the importance of getting a victory as they were mathematically still in the relegation equation. But it was the most decorated club in the country, Nondies, who were desperately in need of a win as they languished in bottom place on the log on 7 points, four away from safety.
Straight from kickoff, the 17 time Kenya Cup champions understood the task at hand as they made a blistering start to the game.
Just four minutes in, Kennedy Wanyoike sneaked in for the opening try of the game as Nondies played advantage to a Mwamba knock on offense.
The team however had to settle for an early 0-5 lead as Kanyiri Kariuki missed his conversion attempt.

Although the two teams would go into the break with a similar scoreline, it is Nondies who had Mwamba on the backfoot as they dominated territory. The team's only undoing was their failure to convert their chances when they had all the dominance.
In the second half, Nondies finally made their dominance count as they stretched their dangerous lead to 0-12 following Fidel Oloo's converted try.
Oloo had picked up the ball from a scrum inside Mwamba's 5 metre mark before bulldozing his way over the tryline.

For Mwamba, nothing seemed to be working out as time and again their build up ended up with frustrating knock on offenses that gifted Nondies easy possession of the ball.
