Elsewhere, Kabras will welcome Nondies in Kakamega

The 2024/25 Kenya Cup enters week nine on Saturday 22 February with six matches slated to take place in various venues nationwide.

Unbeaten Menengai Oilers face their long-time rivals KCB Rugby in what will be the highlight of the day.

KCB Rugby vs Menengai Oilers – KCB Sports Club

Former Kenya Cup champions will pursue a ninth consecutive win when they tackle unbeaten Menengai Oilers in what will be a highlight of the weekend.

The Oilers too have been unbeaten, with their recent score being a 56-5 win over Impala RFC. Last year, the Oilers ended KCB's unbeaten run in the league after securing a 21-7 victory.

That evoked memories of their clash in 2022, when Geoffrey Ominde converted eight penalties as Menengai Oilers knocked out KCB 24-17 to qualify for the final against Kabras.

The Bankers will be out for revenge. They are bolstered by the home advantage.

Oilers on the other hand will be seeking supremacy. They have been red-hot this year and a win over the Bankers will confirm their fine form.

Kabras RFC vs Nondies RFC – Kakamega Showground

The Sugarmen will welcome Nondies RFC in what is likely to be a mouthwatering clash.

The last meeting between these two sides was on 1 June during the Enterprise Cup semifinals, when Kabras edged Nondies 47-8 to advance to the finals and eventually win the title.

The Carlos Kyatwa-coached side has been unbeaten this season and currently tops the Kenya Cup standings.

Kabras will be hoping to amass maximum points to further widen the gap between them and second-placed KCB Rugby.

Nondies, on the other hand, have lost their last two matches to Menengai Oilers and KCB Rugby, respectively.

While picking a win in the forest remains elusive for the white shirts, they will be keen to pick up a bonus point to boost their playoff chances.

Impala RFC vs Mwamba RFC – Impala Grounds

Mwamba RFC will make a short trip to the Impala Grounds to tackle familiar foes Impala RFC.

Impala heads to this clash as wounded Gazelles after suffering a massive defeat to Menengai Oilers last weekend. A win will see them rise to seventh position on the log.

Mwamba RFC, on the other hand, heads to this clash riding high on confidence after their 20-10 victory over Strathmore Leos last weekend. What motivates them even more is that they will be looking to avoid relegation. They will be in the hunt for their third win of the season.

Strathmore vs Nakuru RFC – Strathmore

Strathmore Leos are out of the relegation zone but they are not too safe. They need to maintain their position, or even climb higher to maintain. They will be hoping to register a win over their opponents.

Nakuru RFC, on the other hand head, to this match brimming with confidence after registering a win over Kisumu RFC last weekend.

They recently received a Ksh1.5m sponsorship and will be hoping to reward the trust of their financiers.

South Coast Pirates vs Kenya Harlequin – Seacrest Grounds

The Pirates welcome wounded Kenya Harlequin in what will be a do-or-die clash.

Quins have been on a four-match losing streak and will be looking to bounce back to winning ways with this match.

They suffered consecutive defeats to Nondies, KCB, and Kabras RFC twice; during the Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup matches.
