Kevin Wambua's side will now seek their first pool win when they play Great Britain at 10:58 PM

Kenya 7s national team; Shujaa's poor run at the Vancouver 7s continued after they went down 33-7 to France in their second pool match played on Saturday 22 February at the BK Arena.

The Kevin Wambua-coached side was coming off a 24-0 defeat to Argentina in the opening pool match.

Despite moments of brilliance, the French capitalized on key errors to secure a dominant victory.

France struck first after Kenya failed to defend a lineout, allowing Simone Desert to go over for the opening try.

Shujaa restarted but struggled to maintain momentum, and the experienced Stephen Parez punished them with a second try after catching the Kenyan defense off guard.

Kenya enjoyed brief possession, with Samuel Asati nearly breaking through before being stopped.

A turnover gifted France another opportunity, which they converted into a seven-pointer, extending their lead.

However, Shujaa refused to go down without a fight.

Speedster Patrick Odongo showcased his finishing prowess with a well-taken try—his 12th of the series—just before halftime. With the successful conversion, Kenya trailed 19-7 at the break.

The second half saw France further extend their lead with another converted try.

Kenya attempted a comeback, with Jone Kubu gaining crucial ground, but Shujaa's attack fell short in the green zone.

The missed opportunity proved costly as France sealed the match with a final converted try, closing the game at 33-7.

Shujaa will now shift focus to their next match against Great Britain at 10:58 pm as they seek their first win in Canada.

Meanwhile, France will battle Argentina in their final pool encounter.
