KCB RFC technical bench heading to South Africa for training

DHL Stormers and Western Province are set to hand the five-man technical bench some coaching training.

Following an underwhelming 15’s season, the KCB RFC Technical Bench is once again set to head to South Africa to sharpen their coaching skills in a technical and coaching training course at the high performance in Cape Town.

The Technical Bench heading to the mother city includes head coach Curtis Olago, flanker Andrew Amonde,back's coach Mark Mushila, Brian Otieno, and Brian Omondi were invited to Western Province rugby.

The quintet is set to depart the country for Cape Town on Saturday 23 April and is set to spend 11-days in Western Province before returning to the country on Wednesday 4 May.

The team will return just in time for the upcoming National Sevens Circuit that is set to kick off on Saturday 21 May with the Kabeberi Sevens.

United Rugby Championship side DHL Stormers and Currie Cup side Western Province are set to hand coaching skills to the five-man team from the coaching and support staff.

Olago opened up on how the program will benefit KCB who have dominated Kenya Cup in recent seasons after winning four of the last five titles.

“Every year I've been going and improving on our game model, we have a game profile that we use as KCB and every year we have to keep improving it. We have to play the best of our rugby, we have to keep up with what is going on internationally,” said Olago.

The Bankers had a 15’s season to forget after losing to Menengai Oilers in the Kenya Cup semi-finals and losing out to arch-rivals Kabras Sugar in the Enterprise Cup final.
