KCB take on Kabras Sugar at the Nandi Bears on Saturday 4 September.
KCB RFC and Kabras Sugar will renew their rivalries in the Kenya Cup final for the fourth consecutive season with the Lions head coach Curtis Olago terming the clash as ‘war’.
KCB seek to exert their dominance in the Kenya Cup final after completing a hat-trick of titles against Kabras Sugar from 2017 all through to 2019, with the 2020 season annulled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking after thumping Menengai Oilers 35-17, Olago revealed that he will have a sit down with his technical bench to adequately prepare for the final that he labelled a ‘war’.
Not everything in this life will go your way. You must accept defeat so that you can build and start again. Kang Kang vs Tang Tang. Good game @RfcKabras #lionheartedrugby pic.twitter.com/bfJHZCdikZ

“We have been planning for it (the final) but we will continue to plan with the technical bench on Sunday and Monday and do the final preps in terms of planning,”
“There is no celebration after the semis victory, there is still a war to come, we have just won a battle but there is still a war to come,” said Olago.
KCB will be hoping to clinch their fourth title at the expense of Kabras but will face a stern test against the 2016 champions who are yet to lose a single game this season as they edged KCB during the regular season.
Olago added that the clash against Oilers was a tactical one as he channelled the inner spiritual nature in him following the victory.

“It was a good game, very tactical from both sides, I only thank God that we are in another final. We do not take it for granted, as a club we appreciate the power of Jesus because we celebrate the life of Christ who died,”
“We have worked on that defensive ability in the five-yard zone but we need to be sharper when defending because we do not want to give away a lot of penalties,” added Olago.
