The next leg is the Tisap 7s - scheduled for 2-2 September in Eldoret
Kabras Sugar’s lead atop the Kenya Rugby Union National 7s Circuit is down to two points after KCB’s cup final success at the Christie 7s.
The team from Kakamega had been to three cup finals, losing out at the season opening Dala 7s in Kisumu before claiming back to back titles in Mombasa and Nakuru to top the log on 63 points.

What can i even say about this final, DAMN. The baby brothers @strathleos27 almost spoiled the party but the boys held on to a 17-12 win after the final whistle. August is indeed Leo season alright!!!#believe #commitment #lionheartedrugby pic.twitter.com/YP8EETpoUW
Their perfect streak came to a halt when they exited the Christie 7s at the cup semifinal stage - suffering a 7-5 loss to Strathmore Leos - to eventually claiming third place and 17 points with a 19-12 playoff win over Nakuru.
As a result, Kabras are on 80 points with KCB, cup winners at the Christie 7s second on 78 points.
Having secured victory in the Dala 7s, KCB on Sunday produced a brilliant performance to beat 2022 Christie 7s champions Strathmore Leos 17-12 in the main cup final staged at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.
Leos are third on the log with 63 points, while reigning circuit champions Menengai Oilers occupy fourth place on 56 points.
Mwamba close out the top five on 52 points, after their fourth successive fifth place this season.
In other significant news Monday, Kenya Rugby Union announced the suspension of Kabras Sugar’s Jone Kubu for 11 weeks for stamping during the team’s Christie 7s cup semi final loss to the aforementioned Strathmore Leos.
In a video shared on social media, Kubu seemed to momentarily step on a Leos player who was holding onto his right leg while lying on the ground.
The incident that earned Kabras Sugar's Jone Kubu an 11 week suspension, equal to 11 matches.

The 11 week suspension when applied in sevens rugby translates to 11 matches, and took effect from the Christie 7s third place playoff.
