MMUST vs Daystar Falcons

The eagerly awaited Kenya Cup clash between Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) Rugby and Daystar Falcons has been called off, following a scheduling conflict brought about by academic commitments.

MMUST held their graduation on Friday, 5 December, just a day before matchday, making it impossible for the Kakamega-based outfit to host the fixture.

Daystar Falcons are also in the final stages of preparing for their own ceremony. In mutual agreement, the two universities opted to postpone the match.

Despite the setback, the weekend still promises top-tier action, with five mouth-watering fixtures set to carry the weight of Round Three.

Kabras RFC vs Impala – ASK Kakamega Showground

Free-scoring Kabras Sugar will look to maintain their perfect start when they host Impala RFC in Kakamega.

The Millers have registered two emphatic wins against MMUST and Daystar Falcons, and Saturday’s outing offers them a chance to extend their dominance as they chase a historic five-peat.

Impala, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win.

After suffering the biggest defeats of the season so far, the Gazelles will need to dig deep to turn the tide in Kakamega.

But against a ruthless Kabras side playing at home, the odds remain firmly stacked against them.

Menengai Oilers vs Kisumu RFC – ASK Showground, Nakuru

Top-of-the-table Menengai Oilers are flying high after commanding victories over Daystar Falcons and Impala RFC.

Their last encounter with Kisumu ended in a massive 76–13 win, but matching that score-line now will be difficult.

Kisumu RFC, under the guidance of the experienced Howard Okwemba, are no longer the easy target they once were.

Okwemba’s influence has brought structure, fight, and belief into the Lakeside squad. Still, the Oilers riding their strong momentum will be keen to extend their unbeaten run.

KCB vs Strathmore Leos – KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka

This is the headline fixture of the weekend. Both sides remain undefeated, and when the Bankers meet the Leos, there is always more than points at stake.

The fixture carries special emotional weight, being the annual Jerry Olola Memorial Match.

Jerry “Di Baddest” Olola, who turned out for both KCB and Strathmore Leos before his tragic passing on June 30, 2022, remains a beloved figure in Kenyan rugby.

The opening match of every 15s season honors his memory, and this year’s edition promises fireworks.

Strathmore have been in red-hot form, winning all their matches convincingly.

But beating KCB in Ruaraka is among the toughest assignments in the league. The Bankers, on their own hunt for the Kenya Cup crown, will look to stamp authority and keep their streak alive.

Nondies vs Nakuru RFC – Ngong Racecourse

Nakuru RFC travel to the capital still chasing their first win of the season.

Oscar Ouma’s men have endured a rough start, falling to Kenya Harlequin and Blak Blad in their opening fixtures. This matchup presents a real shot at redemption before the year closes.

Nondies, however, will not be in a giving mood. After a painful, narrow loss to Strathmore Leos last weekend, the Red Lion will be prowling for points.

Expect a physical, high-tempo battle, as both sides seek a strong finish to 2025’s final round of matches.

Blak Blad vs Kenya Harlequin – Kenyatta University

Another blockbuster awaits as KU’s Blak Blad host unbeaten Kenya Harlequin. Fresh from a morale-boosting win over Nakuru RFC, Blad will hope home support helps them build momentum.

But Quins have been in excellent form, winning all their matches with growing confidence.

Still, Kenyatta University has never been an easy hunting ground, and Blad’s fiery, youthful energy often unsettles even the most experienced opponents. This one promises drama from start to finish.
