The team have not managed any win this season but Osir was left delighted with their last performance of 2021.

Resolution Impala Saracens head coach Oscar Osir has lauded the positive attitude change from his team despite the Ngong’ Road-based outfit enduring a turbulent start to the 2021/2022 Kenya Cup season.

In the opening four matches played so far, Impala is the only team that is yet to record a single point to their name as they have lost all their encounters against Kenya Harlequin, Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos and recently Kabras Sugar.

However, having put up a gallant fight in their last match against last season runners up Kabras, to go down 24-12, the former Kenya 7s international was left delighted with the display from his boys as he expressed optimism that the change in attitude could hopefully transform to better fortunes for them in the season in terms of results.

“When a coach watches players put their bodies on the line for the sake of selection, it gives confidence that there is progress despite the loss. At the end of the day, it is a loss which is not what we wanted but when you look at the small inches I think we had victories in the right places and I hope we can convert that into something useful in our next game. It was a fantastic attitude change from the team considering how we have been and we are hoping as a club that perhaps that attitude shift also becomes a shift in our fortunes in the league,” the head coach remarked.

With the Kenya Cup currently on a three-week break, Osir will be hoping his charges will be able to string their performances together when the league resumes on Saturday 8 January 2022. They will however face a daunting task as they are set to take on reigning champions KCB upon resumption from the break.
