Beaming joyfully, the couple shared their wedding moments through a heartfelt Instagram post that drew warm congratulations from friends, fans, and former teammates.
Mugaisi, known for his blistering pace during his Kenya Sevens days, has been based in Canada for several years, playing for the Wyvern Harlequins, a club he joined after his international career.
The intimate wedding was marked with emotion, especially as Mugaisi’s parents could not travel to Canada for the occasion. Despite the distance, the Kenyan rugby fraternity poured in support and love.
Among those who sent their best wishes was former Kenya Sevens and Kabras RFC captain Dan Sikuta.
"I want to wish you a very successful and happy marriage, you and Rebecca. I want to say sorry, I did not make it, but soon I will be with you. I pray God’s guidance upon you. Cheers,” Sikuta said.
Former teammate Oscar Dennis also sent his congratulations to the couple, wishing them all the best in their new venture.
"Mr Muga, I would like to say a big congratulations, my brother. How time has passed. Who could have thought you would have ended up in Canada, from where we started back in the containers, training for 7s in the gym?
I am super proud of you. What a journey you have been on, and this is just the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Congratulations to both of you. Sending lots of love,” he said.
Mugaisi donned the national jersey between 2014 and 2018, making his mark with electrifying runs and memorable performances on the HSBC SVNS Series.
Since moving to Canada, he has been a pillar at Wyvern Harlequins, a club founded in 2002 on the South Coast by a group of 7s enthusiasts.
The team has since grown into a renowned side, with notable wins at Dubai 7s, Bournemouth 7s, and Ibiza 10s, and has developed over 36 international players.
This year, the Harlequins kicked off their summer campaign with an impressive run to the semifinals at the prestigious London Floodlit 7s.
Mozzart Sport wishes Mugaisi and Rebecca all the best as they embark on this new chapter.
