The two teams last faced off during the final of the Kakamega Ingo 7s where Lucky Dewald’s sudden death try allowed Quins to claim the title. The match ended 17-12.
Quins vs Blak Blad
Quins kept their bid for the National 7s Circuit and Driftwood 7s titles alive with a hard-fought 7-0 victory over a resilient Blak Blad.
The league leaders found it difficult to break down Blak Blad's defense in a scoreless first half.
The second half remained equally tight until a late moment of brilliance when Kenyan international Herman Humwa delivered a long pass to Amon Wamalwa.
A missed interception by Blak Blad allowed Wamalwa to sprint clear for the decisive try, which was converted for a 7-0 lead.
With this win, Harlequin secured a spot in the final against KCB Rugby, setting up a rematch of the Kakamega Ingo 7s final.
Kabras RFC vs KCB Rugby
Driftwood 7s defending champions Kabras RFC were eliminated in the semifinals after a 17-0 defeat to KCB Rugby, who kept their hopes of defending the National 7s Circuit title alive.
KCB opened the scoring when Kabras attempted to clear the pressure with a kick, only for Austin Sikutwa to exploit the counterattack and set up Jacob Ojee for a try in the corner, giving them a 5-0 lead.
Despite dominating possession in Kabras’ 22, KCB struggled with handling errors, and the first half ended with just that single try.
In the second half, Samuel Asati added to KCB's lead with a try in the left corner, making it 10-0.
Kabras continued to falter in attack, and Brian Wahinya secured the win for KCB with a corner flag try, sending them to the final.
