Well done, everybody - we've survived another week. Your prize is that you get to follow the latest sports developments on the pages of Mozzart Sport Kenya. Not too shabby, is it?

The Supreme Court earlier today upheld Dr William Ruto's win in the Kenya's general election and that is expected to have a direct effect on the Kenyan football landscape. Kenya is still suspended by FIFA for government interference but with a new administration in place, we could see the suspension lifted soon and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) back in charge of the game. FKF boss Nick Mwendwa in reportedly an ally of Dr Ruto and that could easen things for the federation that was at loggerheads with the outgoing government.

FKFPL teams continue shaping up for the new season

KCB played Gor Mahia at the Absa Grounds on Saturday winning the game 2-1 courtesy of goals from James Mazembe and Edmond Aden. Benson Omala got the

consolation goal for the record league champions. On the same day, Kakamega Homeboyz downed newly promoted, APS Bomet by a similar score. New signing Levis Okello scored a double while Evans Maliachi scored the consoler against his former club. Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka played out to a one all draw at the Utalii Grounds on Saturday.

On Sunday, AFC Leopards and Ulinzi Stars faced off at the Nyayo National Stadium. The match, which was largely colourless ended in a barren draw.

Kenya 7s 2022 Rugby World Cup squad

Kenya 7s head coach Damian McGrath named his 2022 Rugby World Cup squad including the country’s all-time 7s top try scorer, Collins Injera in the squad.

There were a number of notable absentees however with Daniel Taabu and Bush Mwale dropped from the squad due to disciplinary reasons while poster boy Alvin Otieno was also missing.

The tournament is slated for Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September in Cape Town, South Africa as Shujaa kick off their tournament with a clash against Tonga.

All set for the KSSSA National ball games in Nakuru

Some giants fell, others exacted their dominance while some minnows are ready to conquer for the first time. The dust has settled and all the action now moves to Nakuru for the Kenya Secondary Schools term 2 B National ball games.

Some action in the world of athletics

Up against a strong field at the Brussels Diamond League, world 5000m silver medalist Jacob Krop clocked a world lead time of 12:45.71 to win the men's 5000m at the Brussels Diamond League and lower his life time best time by over a second.

Krop was racing in his third Diamond League event, having participated in the 5000m in Roma, Italy and 3000m in Monaco and had a stellar field to content with.

Teenage steeplechase sensation, Jackline Chepkoech, made sure to stamp her authority in a star-studded field, winning the race in a new PB of 9:02.43 an improvement by a massive 13 seconds, barely a month after running her previous PB in Birmingham in winning the Commonwealth Games.

In a loaded men’s 800m field, world and Olympic champion Emmanuel Korir was beaten into third place, as Jake Wightman produced the race of his life to triumph in a PB of 1:43.65

World 800m bronze medalist Mary Moraa raced in the 400m in Brussels, settling for fourth in a new national record.

Omanyala

The Commonwealth Games 100m champion, Ferdinand Omanyala had a busy week competing in Switzerland and in Berlin where he finished second on both occasions losing to American sprinters.

Mountain running

Kenya's Patrick Kipng'eno clocked 1:30.46 to lead a Kenyan 1-2 as Philemon Kiriago finished behind him in 1:31.41 at the Trafeo Nasego golden label mountain running title.

Transfer window madness

Last week we saw the climax of the "summer" transfer window, as they call it up north. We've seen Manchester United finally land their man Anthony for $100 million from Ajax. The tricky Brazilian was given his first start just days later in the big match against Arsenal - and he scored. We're not saying that the investment is already paying off, but maybe if he continues like that... Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, meanwhile, returned to London but changed his colours. After just over six months in Barcelona, he accepted the call and joined Chelsea. It should be an awkward meeting with Arsenal, the club that discarded him and let him walk out for free. Speaking of the Blues, they

splashed the cash as if there is no tomorrow. Nottingham Forest needed a bus to pack all their recruits, but Leicester were worryingly inactive. It goes without saying that it was the Premier League club who spent the most money in the transfer window, dwarfing all other leagues and competitions. But have they spent their cash wisely - that's a different question.

Red and black dawn

It's been an eventful week for the Italian giants AC Milan. Last Wednesday, wealthy American investment fund RedBird completed the $1.3 BILLION takeover of the San Siro club, making it the start of a new era for the reigining Italian champion and seven-times Champions League winners. There are ambitious plans afoot to get Milan in the very top of European football, but for the time being they are happy to be the top dogs in Italy. They've already proven that thay are the strongest team in their city with a breathtaking 3-2 Derby Della Madonnina victory over Inter on Saturday.
