Alcaraz beat Djokovic in straight sets to claim his second consecutive Wimbledon
This time, the youth has triumphed! After two and a half hours of tennis, Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic 3-0 (6-2, 6-2, 7-6(4)) and won his second Wimbledon in a row, and his fourth Grand Slam title in total. On the other hand, the Serbian suffered one of the easiest and quickest defeats in his career at major tournaments. This way, we got the exact outcome of the last year's Wimbledon final between the same opponents, only Alcaraz's victory was much harder to achieve back then - 3-2.
Astounding Alcaraz 🤩

Already the first game in the match was iconic. It lasted 14 minutes, and Alcaraz managed to break the opponent's serve only after the fifth break point. It turned out that that first game set the tone for the entire first set and possibly the whole match. Namely, Djokovic seemed disheartened, while Alcaraz got a confidence boost, which led him to win the first set very comfortably 6-2 after breaking the Serbian's serve once more in the fifth game.
The second set was practically a replay of the first one. Once more, Djokovic was the first to serve, and once more, the Spaniard won the initial game, this time much easier than in the first set. Alcaraz continued to win his serves without a hitch, whereas Djokovic suffered another break in the seventh game, after which the 21-year-old turned his first set point into a 2-0 lead - 6-2.
Djokovic woke up in the third set, finally winning the initial game and taking the lead for the first time in the match. However, the 37-year-old had no idea how to threaten the youngster on his serve. Even though Alcaraz had three and Djokovic one break point, both players held their serves until the ninth game, when the Spaniard took the 5-4 lead and got the chance to serve for the trophy.
The match could've ended much earlier, but the pressure at that point was too overwhelming for Alcaraz, who missed three championship points in a row and eventually allowed Djokovic to break his serve for the first time in the game and level the score in the third set - 5-5. In the end, the tie-break was to decide. The Spaniard was more concentrated, just like in the whole match, turning the fourth championship point into the victory and the second Wimbledon title in a row.

Only six men in the Open Era have won Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same year:

Bjorn Borg
Rafael Nadal
Roger Federer

The youngster also won his second consecutive Grand Slam trophy, given that he also triumphed at Roland Garros a month ago. In the end, the impression is that the 24-time Grand Slam champion and arguably the GOAT of tennis - Novak Djokovic - played one of the weakest matches in the last couple of years, while Alcaraz proved that he is not only the future but the present of this sport and that Rafael Nadal got a worthy successor. The next scene of the battle between today's rivals could be Paris, given that both of them will participate in the 2024 Olympic Games.
