This is a repeat of the 2024/25 league final where DCI were making their debut in the league playoff final, settling for silver, their first medal in the league.
Sang believes inexperience played a huge role in their loss, especially in the opening match of the best-of-three, a factor that will be significantly reduced as the two sides clash on Saturday 12 July in the semis.
"It was a learning process while a great achievement at the same time. We showed that we can match the favourites, particularly in our second leg of the final.
Some small basic errors cost in the 3-2 show in Game Two but we have since worked on those. We are ready and well prepared. Just like the league final, we will make this worthwhile for the fans," Sang, whose side has been bolstered by the inclusion of Kenyan International Veronica Adhiambo, said.
With a place in next year’s Zone Five Africa clubs championship, that Kenya has bid to host, already secured as the top four qualify, this is a competition for bragging rights.
Pipeline, under coach Geoffrey Omondi, are out to stamp their authority over the Investigatory with a loaded squad captained by Malkia Strikers' Gladys Ekaru.
The winner will clash will take on the victor between former league champions KCB and Prisons Kenya who have been lined up together in another semi-final.
Meanwhile, the men's semis clashes will see reigning league champions, General Service Unit (GSU) who take on Prisons Kenya, a familiar rivalry over the years.
On their part, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) who lost the title battle in the league are taking on Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) as they look to reach their second final of the season and fight for silverware.
Mozzart Bet, Malkia Strikers' official sponsors, have supported the Cup to a tune of Ksh900,000.
Speaking during the official final launch of the event in Nairobi on Friday, 11, the company's Head of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Frank Okoth says the good working relationship between the two entities has led to the partnership.
The winners will pocket Ksh300,000 with the second, third and fourth finishers in both gender taking home Ksh200,000, Ksh100,000 and Ksh75,000 respectively.
