The Malkia Strikers’ opposite was attached at LP Viesti of Finland last season before the move, leading the side to qualify for the CEV Cup for the coming season by winning the Suomen Cup.

“It was an honor donning the LP Viesti jersey for the 2024/2025 season, and all I can say is thank you very much for making it home far from home for me. As I take my next step, I shall always have you all as part of me, and I wish you all the very best for the coming seasons (sic),” read part of her exit message for the Finnish fans, days before announcing her new home.

Currently preparing for the FIVB World Championship in Thailand with the national team in August, before linking up with the new club, Adhiambo has been described as a quality player out to help the side get better under Italian coach Riccardo Boieri.

Joining after six years with SC Potsdam in Germany, the tactician says he was drawn to Mladost’s long-term vision and stability, adding that his main goal is to strengthen the club’s presence on the European stage, whether in the Champions League or CEV Cup, while also maintaining a strong national identity by developing local talent whenever possible.

“We have signed a contract with the Kenyan national team player, 23-year-old Olympian Pamella Adhiambo Owino. A diagonal that will help our young Tonka Bošnjak to develop even better next season. We took the opportunity to bring in a quality player, but most of the roster will be the same as last season,” the club statement reads in part.

Adhiambo, in an interview with the club, revealed that there were other offers, including a similar one from Rwandese side APR, whom she played for in the just-concluded Genocide Memorial Tournament on a short-term contract, but she settled for the Zagreb-based side.

“After I decided to go to Mladost, I did not look back at other calls. I am more than excited to join the team. Unfortunately, it will be my first time in Croatia, but I believe that my stay there won't feel like my first time. I'm looking forward to exploring the country and enjoying everything I can, both with the team and on a personal level. I do not know exactly when I will come to Croatia, it all depends on the World Cup, and I hope we can go as far as possible there,” she concluded.
