The 22-year-old was awarded prestigious spots on the NCAA All-Tournament Team for both Singles and Doubles, recognizing her impact in a historical year for the institution.

Okutoyi, who earlier this year bagged four titles at two home International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tour Nairobi W35 tournaments, was a standout as her school earned a first NCAA championship appearance, which unfortunately ended in a 4-1 loss to eventual champions Texas A&M.

For her singles honors, NCAA recognized Okutoyi’s unbeaten record all through the Super Regionals, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

The senior only had one match that went unfinished, which was in the opening rounds against Bryant, as she was leading 6-4, 2-0 before the Tigers closed out the day to advance.

Throughout the tournament, the 2024 African Games singles gold medalist had three of her six matches come in straight set victories; a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Miami in round two, 6-4, 6-3 win over Ohio State in the semifinals, and a 6-2, 6-2 domination in the aforementioned finals against Texas A&M.

For her doubles honor, Okutoyi earned it alongside her sophomore teammate Merna Rafaat, following their perfect run in tournament play, a performance that saw the duo not drop a single match in the Tigers' run in the championship.

In the final three rounds of the tournament, Rafaat and Okutoyi only dropped six games total, with a 6-4 against LSU, 6-1 against Ohio State, and 6-1 against Texas A&M.

For the whole tournament, not a single match was pushed to a tiebreak.

The pair completely dominated throughout the tournament, controlling their matches, and being a huge reason for the Tigers' success at securing the doubles point early.

In addition to the NCAA runner-up title, The Tigers finished the season 37-4, and won both the SEC regular season title, and the historic SEC Championship.
