Scorpions have a date with Blazers at City Park
The 2016 Kenya Hockey Union men's Premier League champions Strathmore University Gladiators will be hoping to redeem themselves from last weekend's heavy loss to Western Jaguars when they take on Parkroad Badgers on Sunday at City Park Stadium.
Gladiators were taught bitter hockey lessons by the high-flying Jaguars who won last weekend's encounter 5-2 and will be looking to capitalize on Badger's poor run and register the fifth win of the season.
Badgers are flirting with relegation as they have won twice in the eleven matches played thus far in the season.
In the women's category, Strathmore University Scorpions will revive their rivalry with record Kenyan champions Blazers at City Park. The students shocked Blazers in the first leg as they won 2-0 and will be looking to complete a double and consolidate their stay at the apex.
In Kisumu, Lakers will be looking to register the second win in the weekend when they lock horns with Sliders. Lakers beat Amira Sailors 2-0 on Saturday at the Kisumu Day grounds and will hope to make maximum use of home advantage and seal three more points.
Meanwhile, three men's Super League matches are lined up for the day with City Park hosting two of them.
Kisumu Youngsters will host Kenyatta University men in Kisumu while Parkroad Tigers have a date with Wazalendo Masters, a clash that will be curtain raised by the encounter pitting JKUAT and the Technical University team.
JKUAT ladies will tackle the University of Nairobi team in the women's Super League category.
Three nationwide matches are also set up to be played on Sunday. Kitale Hockey Club will host University of Eldoret in Kitale while Bay Pirates are set to take on Blue Pirates in Kisumu. The University of Nairobi are scheduled to play Karate Axiom at the Strathmore grounds.
