Even without their biggest star, Al-Nassr brushed aside former Karim Benzema's team, Al-Ittihad (2-0), and continued to pursue the table-toppers and the Frenchman's new team, Al Hilal
For the second game in a row, Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't been in Al-Nassr's squad, as the Portuguese started some sort of strike after falling out with practically the entire league - some would say the whole country - because, in his opinion, his club doesn't have equal support from its owners, PIF Fund, like its rivals, Al Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Ahli.
And while CR7 is pouting and boycotting Al-Nassr's games, his teammates have continued their pursuit of the Saudi Pro League table-toppers and Karim Benzema's new team, Al Hilal, and they are doing pretty fine without their biggest superstar.
Four days ago, Sadio Mane brought them a victory against Al-Riyadh (1-0), and tonight the Senegalese broke the deadlock in the Global One's 2-0 triumph over the Frenchman's former side, Al-Ittihad, in a derby clash.
Mane scored from the spot in the 85th minute, while the young Brazilian forward Angelo just confirmed the home team's win in the seventh minute of added time.
As Ronaldo's situation off the pitch is getting more complicated, given that the Saudi's patience is getting thin, Al-Nassr are again just one point behind Al Hilal, and their title dreams are very much alive.
