This will be the third meeting between the sides this season, with the Blues already claiming a 3-0 league win in November

Chelsea will look to bounce back from midweek cup disappointment when they return to Premier League action away at struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the third meeting between the sides this season, with the Blues already claiming a 3-0 league win in November.

While Chelsea sit fifth and are pushing for Champions League qualification, Wolves are enduring a torrid campaign at the foot of the table, 18 points from safety, leaving the visitors clear favourites at Molineux.

Wolves come into this contest rooted bottom of the Premier League standings with just eight points from 24 matches, having won only once all season.

Their recent form has dipped sharply after a brief unbeaten spell at the start of 2026.

They have lost their last two league matches 2-0 against Manchester City and Bournemouth, extending a worrying run that has seen them fail to score in three consecutive Premier League outings.

Across their last five league games, Wolves have scored just two goals while conceding eleven, underlining their ongoing attacking struggles.

Home form offers little encouragement either, with Rob Edwards’ side losing seven of their last ten league games at Molineux and scoring only four goals across their last seven home matches.

In terms of team news, Wolves remain without defender Toti Gomes due to a hamstring injury, while Ladislav Krejci is a doubt after illness.

January signing Adam Armstrong is pushing for a start in attack, but Wolves’ goal threat remains limited, with their forwards managing only three league goals between them this season.

Mateus Mane has been one of the few bright spots, leading the team in shots and expected assists since December.

Chelsea, by contrast, arrive in strong league form despite midweek cup disappointment. The Blues sit fifth in the table with 40 points from 24 matches, just one point outside the top four.

Under new boss Liam Rosenior, Chelsea have won five of their last six matches across all competitions, scoring 12 goals in that run.

In their last five Premier League outings, they have netted 10 goals while conceding six, showing both attacking confidence and occasional defensive vulnerability.

Away from home, Chelsea have been particularly effective, collecting key victories against Crystal Palace and Napoli in recent weeks.

Chelsea’s injury list remains lengthy, with Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo and Romeo Lavia unavailable, while Reece James and Pedro Neto are fitness doubts.

However, the return of Cole Palmer and Estevao boosts their attacking options, while Joao Pedro continues to impress, scoring five goals in his last eight league appearances.

Head-to-head history heavily favours Chelsea.

The Blues have won both meetings this season, including a 3-0 league victory in November and a 4-3 EFL Cup win at Molineux.

Chelsea have also won three straight league matches against Wolves, scoring 12 goals in the process, with all recent meetings producing over 2.5 goals.

Key Betting Pointers;

Wolves have suffered 18 defeats in the league this season.

Chelsea have won five of their last six games.

The Blues have beaten Wolves twice already this campaign.

Wolves have lost seven of their previous 10 home fixtures.

Taking all factors into account - form, quality gap, head-to-head dominance and Wolves’ lack of goal threat - Chelsea look well placed to claim another three points.

Prediction; Chelsea to win
