Ahead of the match, Police sit at the summit with 31 points, two more than Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets.

The FKF Women Premier League round 16 continues today, Sunday, 15 February, with a single match on the cards as Vihiga Queens host Zetech Sparks at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu from 1300 hrs.

With league leaders Kenya Police Bullets and third-placed Ulinzi Starlets inactive this weekend, Vihiga Queens have an opportunity to go top of the table if they secure a win.

Ahead of the match, Police sit at the summit with 31 points, two more than Vihiga Queens and Ulinzi Starlets.

In the relegation zone, Kisped Queens are bottom of the log with -2 points, one point behind Kisumu All Starlets, while Gideon Starlets complete the bottom three with 16 points.

Vihiga Queens have been on a mission to reclaim their glory this season and end Police’s dominance. This match provides them with a perfect opportunity to pile pressure on the law enforcers, who still have two games in hand.

Zetech Sparks, on the other hand, are fifth with 24 points and will be seeking a win that would take them to within one point of fourth-placed Trinity Starlets.

In matches played on Saturday, 14 February, Kibera Soccer Women continued their resurgence with a 2-1 victory over Kayole Starlets at Marist International University in Karen.

Kibera have been in good form over the past few match weeks, making amends after a poor start to the season that saw them spend several weeks in the relegation zone.

They went into the match on the back of consecutive wins over Zetech Sparks and Kisped Queens, while Kayole had beaten Bungoma Queens in their previous outing.

Kibera started brightly and took the lead in the eighth minute through Amina Nyakoa, who scored from a free kick.

The goal appeared to rattle Kayole, who responded by committing more players forward. Their efforts paid off in the 12th minute when Drailer Salome struck from long range from her own half to level the scores and send the travelling fans into a frenzy.

Both sides pushed for a second goal before the break, but neither could find the net as they went into halftime level.

In the second half, Faith Naliaka thought she had given Kayole the lead, but her 66th-minute effort was ruled out for offside.

Kibera eventually regained the lead in the 85th minute when Ruth Kurgat converted from an Yvonne Idagiza assist.

In the end, Kibera secured a 2-1 victory to complete a double over Kayole Starlets and move up to sixth on the table with 22 points.

Madira Soccer Assassins 4-0 Kisped Queens

Madira Soccer Assassins secured an emphatic 4-0 victory over Kisped Queens at Nyang’ori Boys Grounds.

Phyllis scored a hat-trick, while Tabitha Wambui added the fourth goal to compound Kisped’s woes.

Madira remain ninth on the table with 19 points, while Kisped stay bottom with -2 points.

In the other match of the day, Gideon Starlets moved closer to escaping the relegation zone with a 3-1 victory over Kisumu All Starlets.

Gideon now have 16 points as they continue their fight against relegation.
