Kenya Police Bullets take on Vihiga Queens, Ulinzi Starlets face Gideon Starlets, Trinity Starlets battle Kayole Starlets, Kibera Soccer Women entertain Bungoma Queens, as Madira Soccer Women lock horns with Zetech Sparks.

Ahead of today's matches, Kenya Police Bullets are at the summit of the league table with 43 points, two more than their closest challengers Ulinzi Starlets, as Trinity Starlets close the top three with 33 points to their name.

As per the league and table ratification done in midweek, Lakeside city of Kisumu duo Kisumu All Starlets and Kisped Queens have already been relegated to the FKF Women National Super League (WNSL).

This comes after the two clubs issued over three walkovers in their matches. In that respect, their second leg results were all nullified, bringing several changes to the table standings.

In effect, only one team of the remaining 10 competitors will join the duo in the WNSL next season. Vihiga-based side Madira Soccer Assassins are currently at the bottom of the log with 12 points, two shy of Gideon Starlets, who were one of the biggest winners of the changes in the league table.

Kenya Police Bullets vs Vihiga Queens

Defending champions Kenya Police Bullets will take on Kenyan giants Vihiga Queens at the Police Sacco Stadium beginning 1400 hrs.

The match, which will be a battle of titans, will be the second of a double-header at the venue, and highlights the packed WPL fixtures.

The encounter comes just a week after Police gunned down another giant and fellow title contenders Ulinzi Starlets in a top of the table clash.

The law enforcers therefore head into the match in great form and full of confidence, having won all their last 10 matches, and will be keen to make it 11, and draw close to creating another history by winning their third consecutive league title, in what is only their third season in the topflight.

As for Vihiga, they are currently fourth on the log with 28 points, forcing coach Boniface Nyamunyamu to throw in the towel in the title race, shifting focus to securing maximum points in the remaining league matches.

“Our aim since the league started was to win it, but as things stand, it is mathematically difficult to overtake Police at the top. We accept the situation and shift focus to winning the remaining matches, at least to secure a top-three finish,” said Nyamunyamu. “Heading into tomorrow’s match against Police, we will give them the respect they deserve. They are a great team with talented players and are close to winning the title for the third consecutive time. However, we are not intimidated by their record, and I urge my players to put in extra effort and fight for maximum points."

Ulinzi Starlets vs Gideon Starlets

Second placed Ulinzi Starlets will face Gideon Starlets at the Ulinzi Sports Complex from 1100 hrs even as they seek to redeem their dwindling title hopes.

The military side will be out to bounce back from the humiliating 3-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Police Bullets.

Despite the defeat leaving them two points behind Police, who have played a match less and with only three rounds before the end of the season, coach Collins Ochieng insists his team is still eying the title.

“We are still in the title race until there is no hope anymore. As long as we still have a chance, we will continue to believe,” said Ochieng.

Nevertheless, the experienced tactician is wary of the threat posed by Gideon Starlets, anchored by their motivation.

“It will be a very tough match, they are fighting relegation and would want to stay in the top flight, while ourselves, we want to win the league, or at worst, cement second position,” he added.

Kayole Starlets vs Trinity Starlets

Kayole Starlets welcomes Trinity Starlets at the Police Sacco Stadium from 0900 hrs in the first match of the day, and the first of a double header at the venue.

Kayole are currently eighth on the log with 16 points, due to a bad run in the second leg, including a loss to Vihiga Queens in their last match.

They will be targeting to bounce back to winning ways at the expense of Trinity, who have had a fairly successful season, and currently sit third on the log.

In other matches of the day, FKF Cup reigning champions Kibera Soccer Women will host Bungoma Queens at the Dandora Stadium from noon, while Madira Soccer Assassins will be at home to varsity side Zetech Sparks at the Nyang’ori High School Grounds from 1300 hrs.
