
Wilson in as Babu names U18 team provisional squad for CECAFA tournament

Seven players with top flight experience have been included in the team
Kariobangi Sharks duo of Mathew Kibiwott and Stanley Wilson have been included in the national U18 team provisional team that is gearing up for the CECAFA tournament.
The two midfielders are among the seven players in the squad with top-flight experience with Wilson bearing more as he has a senior team call up against his name.
Sharks midfielder Kevin Wangaya who is in his second season with the club and in the top flight has also been included.
The creative midfielder hasn’t seen playing time at the club on a regular basis as he is still in school.
Other players who have featured in the FKFPL include Ulinzi Stars attacking midfielder Lucas Maina, Shabana’s Delphine Omuru and Kakamega Homeboyz goalkeeper Ibrahim Wanzala.
The shot-stopper who won the Mozzart Bet Cup last season with the club has kept back-to-back clean sheets in the two matches he has played so far for Abana Abeingo.
He previously played for the national U17 team.
Sofapaka wingback Baron Ochieng who is having a season of his life with the 2009 league winners also made to the team.
The youngster joined Sofapaka before the season began from National Super League side Kibera Black Stars.
Coach Salim Babu who was appointed on Wednesday to lead the team blended in school team players with their colleagues in the FKFPL and the National Super League.
The team has eleven players from the second tie where Rainbow and Migori Youth contribute a lion's share of the called-up arsenals.
KSSSA champions St. Anthony’s and beaten finalists Shanderema School produced 6 and 3 players respectively.
Aldrine Kibet and Amos Wanjala who stood out in the competition have been rewarded with call ups so has Shanderema’s forward Mark Shaban.
Derrick Oketch who announced himself in the Chapa Dimba tournament with Ebwali Secondary School has also been incorporated in the team.
The CECAFA U18 tournament kicks off on November 25th.
